Preschool Curriculum - My AppleTree Learning Center

AppleTree follows High Scope Curriculum. The preschool curriculum at Apple Tree Learning Center has been developed to stimulate young minds and encourage a lifetime love of learning. We know that the preschool years are vital to forming a strong foundation for learning. The High Scope Curriculum model allows for authentic interactions while meeting the needs of a variety of learners.

The Preschool Curriculum at AppleTree Learning Center adheres to the requirements of our Paths to QUALITY™ guidelines and provides for children’s physical, cognitive, language, literacy and social-emotional development. Our teachers create daily lesson plans designed to stimulate thinking and encourage imagination and creativity. Our all-day preschool schedule includes a balance of activities including quiet and active, individual and group, learning and play.

Your child’s progress and development are carefully measured, documented and studied during annual conferences. We will share with you assessments in the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ), HighScope Foundation’s Child Observation Record (COR) and Indiana Department of Education’s Istar-KR. These tools will help parents and teachers set developmental goals for the children both in the home and in our program.

We are proud of the fact that the preschool curriculum at AppleTree Learning Center exceeds the standards set by both the state, and NAEYC.  Our goal is to continually improve our program to provide the best learning experience possible for our students. Our dedication has led us to be active participants in the South Bend Community School Corporation kindergarten task force to ensure a smooth transition from pre-school to kindergarten for students. We incorporate family and staff evaluations of our program on a regular basis and complete annual strategic planning and goal setting for our program.
